Meeting Overview

The Third Galileo-Xu Guangqi Meeting took place at the National Astronomical Observatories in Beijing from October 11 to 15, 2011.

Sessions covered X-ray and gamma-ray astrophysics; gravitational waves, radio astronomy and precision tests of general relativity; gamma-ray bursts, neutron stars and supernovae; astroparticle physics; cosmology, large-scale structure and dark matter; solar astrometry; and the history of astronomy.

Public lectures featured Marco Tavani, David Blair, Remo Ruffini and Francis Everitt. The proceedings reference is International Journal of Modern Physics D, volume 22, number 11 (2013), edited by Zhen Cao, Xuelei Chen, Remo Ruffini, Shesheng Xue, Chengmin Zhang and Shuangnan Zhang.
