Research Satement

My research activity is centered on the problem of Big Bang and on the properties that the generic cosmological solution shows during its initial phases. Under the supervision of Dr. Giovanni Montani, I studied some properties of the BKL dynamics in vacuum, both in the classical regime and the quantum one. This work resulted in an article accepted on the international journal Classical and Quantum Gravity, where we discuss:
i) at the classical level, the Hamilton-Jacobi function and the Liouville theorem;
ii) at the semi-classical level, the operator-ordering;
iii) at the quantum level, the eigenfunctions and the energy spectrum.

Actually, I’m working on the reformulation of the inhomogeneous Mixmaster model in term of Ashtekar variables; this approach is quite interesting because in connection variables the Super- Hamiltonian constraint is polynomial and without any potential term. These features should allow a more general discussion of the classical chaos in term of the Jacobi metric. The effects of matter fields in the multidimensional cosmological models is also under consideration; developing a previous work, we are investigating the chaos in the scalar-vector-tensor multidimensional theory, and, furthermore, the generalization of the BKL map when a generic non-Abelian field is inserted in the dynamics. Finally, I’m studying how to apply the Weyl quantization scheme to the Mixmaster model.
