Abstract |
Deep Underground Laboratories (DULs) are research infrastructures with a rock overburden greater than 1000 meter-water-equivalent. At present 12 such infrastructures are in operation in the north hemisphere. In DULs research on neutrino physics, dark matter, and rare processes is carried out. Geophysics and biology in extreme environment is also a research goal in DULs. New infrastructures are proposed in the time frame 2019-2027. Two of the new infrastructures will be located in the south hemisphere. In the talk the main characteristics of DULs, present and future prospect are reviewed. |
