Geometrothermodynamic cosmology | |||||

Abstract |
We apply the formalism of geometrothermodynamics to derive a fundamental thermodynamic equation, which is used together with the Friedmann equations to construct a cosmological model. As a result, we obtain an alternative model in which a first phase, corresponding to a system without thermodynamic interaction, is equivalent to the standard $\Lambda$CDM cosmological model. The second phase is characterized by the presence of thermodynamic interaction and can be used to reproduce the main features of inflation. The proposed fundamental equation of the Universe can, therefore, describe effectively all the known eras in the evolution of the Universe, starting from inflation. |
