Discretisation Ambiguities in (Loop) Quantum Gravity | |||||

Abstract |
During the programme of canonical quantisation different ambiguities arise. We will put special focus to the origin of "discretisation ambiguities". That their effect is non-trivial will be demonstrated by an example: In Robertson-Walker cosmology the effective Hamiltonian of two proposed regularisations in Loop Quantum Gravity predict the resolution of the initial singularity by a Big Bounce. However, the details of this Bounce are vastly different in both proposals. Hence, we will finally present a framework for Hamiltonian Renormalisation, directly aimed at solving these ambiguities. |
