Abstract |
Accretion disks around (supermassive) black holes (SMBHs) are the structures i) reaching closest to the horizon of, and ii) mediating most of the matter transport (in)to a BH. In my talk I will first present recent results of numerical models simulating the accretion-driven evolution of the masses of SMBHs. Then I will show how a comparison of real-Universe surveys and of synthetic surveys of SMBHs may shed light on both, the processes driving the evolution of SMBHs as well as the cosmological evolution. |
