Abstract |
The cognitive processes leading to the understanding of a theory are a complex system. From the teacher point of view the easiest approach is the systematic presentation of the theory itself through teacher-focused taught lectures. Though easy, this method is far from being effective. We can achieve a deeper understanding putting in contact theory and experimental data. This approach gives to the theory the role of an investigation tool in the hands of the learner. The theory becomes a useful instrument for the data codification and interpretation. Building analysis frameworks where to plan the meeting of learners, theory and data is a wonderful educational task, showing high potential in science learning scenarios. In our work, datasets, from pion-Helium nuclei scattering at low energies have been used in order to introduce relativistic kinematic to a set of 50 teacher from three different Italian regions. |
