General relativistic magnetohydrodynamic simulations of jet formation and propagation from black hole accretion systems |
Abstract _ |
General relativistic magnetohydrodynamic simulations of black hole accretion disks show a simple jet formation process that is described well by the Blandford-Znajek effect. Unlike in relativistic HD simulations, the jet angular and radial structures are simple. We discuss our results and outline the need for additional microphysics to understand the mass-loading of the jet in GRB, AGN, and x-ray binary systems. |
